Ultrasonic plastic welder use, principle, welding conditions and applicable industries

2024-06-29

Ultrasonic plastic welding machine use:

Ultrasonic plastic welding machine is used for welding, riveting, molding of fusible plastic products, metal and plastic embedding, fusion welding and so on. Widely used in electronics, electrical appliances, automotive parts, plastic toys, stationery, daily necessities, handicrafts, cosmetics, cell phones, computers, power boxes, chargers, adapters and other various industries weldable products.

Ultrasonic plastic welding machine principle:

Ultrasonic welding machine is generated by the generator 20KHz (or 15KHz) of high-pressure, high-frequency signals, through the transducer system, the signal is converted to high-frequency mechanical vibration, added to the plastic workpiece, through the surface of the workpiece and in the friction between the molecules and make the transfer of the interface to the temperature rises when the temperature reaches the melting point of the workpiece itself, so that the interface of the workpiece quickly melted, followed by filling the gaps between the interface, when the When the vibration stops, the workpiece at the same time in a certain pressure cooling and shaping, it will achieve the perfect welding molding.
The new 15KHz ultrasonic plastic welding machine, the welding of harder ABS and PC and softer PE, PP materials, as well as ultra-large diameter, length of ultra-long plastic weldments, has a unique effect, to meet the needs of a variety of products, according to customer production requirements, efficiency and product grade production of different models of ultrasonic welding machine and ultrasonic welding head, jig, molds, molds, hot pressing molds.

Ultrasonic welding conditions for plastic products:

Ultrasonic welding conditions are the most important is the application of welding energy time (vibration, welding time) length and pressure. Of course, other conditions are also important.

Welding temperature: The viscous flow temperature of the ultrasonically welded material. Related to the amplitude, the higher the amplitude, the higher the temperature rise.  Otherwise the material will not melt.

Pressurization: Use a cylindrical work gazelle to pressurize the molded product. Generally the compressed air pressure is 0.1-0.3MPa (gauge), sometimes a little higher. However, if high pressure is used, the vibration of the cylindrical shape will be hindered.

Welding time: welding time varies depending on the type of material and the shape of the product. For some molded products, a welding time of only 0.2 seconds is sufficient. If the welding time is too long, a lot of flying edges and air bubbles will be generated due to over welding, which will lead to poor air tightness and must be taken care of.

Cooling (Holding) Time: For crystalline plastics, if the temperature is below the melting point, the joint will be solidified, and the pressurization time is usually kept between 0.1 and 0.2 seconds.
